The DVD-1400 is designed to bring out the best performance of both pure audio and A/V sources. The Pure Direct mode allows the audio signal from Super Audio CD or DVD-Audio sources to maintain its purity as it bypasses the video circuitry and is D/A converted at the very high resolution of 24-bit 192-kHz sampling. As a video player the DVD-1400 converts video signals with high resolution utilizing video D/A conversion at a sampling frequency of 54-MHz. The DVD-1400 aspires to be the true universal player capable of playing all types of 12cm discs including next-generation media such as DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD. Multi-channel recordings on DVDAudio and DVD-Video discs as well as Super Audio CDs video CDs and music CDs can all be enjoyed in one player. The DVD-1400 is also equipped with MP3 and WMA digital audio compression and JPEG digital video compression decoders. Since this player supports DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW formats it will play DVD-R/RW discs recorded in DVD recorders and other devices and CD-R/RW discs containing files in MP3 WMA or JPEG format recorded on a computer.
